I suck bad at swimming. There's no denying it. And while I could sit here and practice, practice, practice, there is still a chance that it may not make any difference at all. The reason is because a lot of times, people (me) keep making the same mistakes over and over again, therefore it does you no good to keep doing what you're doing. (This applies to a lot of things, not just swimming.)
The answer lies in outside, professional help. While I have no doubt some friends of mine are excellent teachers and swimmers (Matt just taught a one-legged girl how to swim!), it may be that I am just retarded in the pool. Again, I have no doubt that Matt, Mike, or Dustin (all great in the pool) could help me get where I'm a ninja, it may take a while.
Enter Total Immersion (see www.totalimmersion.net). They claim to be able to increase anyone's abilities in the pool in a matter of hours. No matter what their aptitude level. Farce? Gimmick? Perhaps. But in cases like these where skepticism sometimes prevails, what do we do but turn to trusted sources for their recommendation or rebuking.
For our purposes, behold: Total Immersion comes highly recommended by USAF PJs, who are all pool ninjas already. If it can help them, it must be awesome. So in conclusion...
...I'm going to try Total Immersion before I drown myself doing these DCs.
